What Will The Emmys 2025 Bring Back In Fashion?

Emmys fashion is one for the books. Like the iconic bright yellow two-piece moment donned by Christopher John Rogers in 2021, will forever be etched in our memories for years to come. Red carpets bring a flair of fashion like no other, with celebrities bringing their A game to the party. Now, the question is, will this 77th year of annual awards be just as special as the last year with its fashionable moments?
Last year, we saw iconic looks from Selena Gomez in her luscious velvet Ralph Lauren gown with an adorned cross neckline, Meryl Streep in her pretty pink power suit, the flyway collar moment by Dan Levy, who also hosted the event with his dapper father Eugene Levy, Mindy Kaling in a gorgeous Gaurav Gupta ensemble, Jeremy White Allen in his classic cut suit, and many more A-listers. Though for many, the styling lacked and the fashion just wasn’t there much, we still saw some intriguing pieces donned by some celebs.

Red carpets are always about making a statement with your fashion. The scrutiny of every ensemble by the public, including fashion enthusiasts and fanatics, can be, in the words of Olivia Rodrigo, brutal out there. And Emmys are known for celebrities to bring in some sophisticated yet fun fashion moments.

Here’s what we predict the Emmys 2025 red carpet will present in terms of fashion for us. The first thing that pops into our mind is polka dots. Polka dots have been dominating every celebrity's wardrobe at the moment, with every other designer showcasing at least one ensemble featuring the classic print. And we’re sure to see at least one celebrity don it on the red carpet. Next would be power dressing. Androgynous fashion has had an impact on high fashion this season, especially with women leaning towards power dressing with exaggerated silhouettes. Risqué fashion ensembles will be seen because this era is all about experimental fashion.

We’re also looking for some custom looks rather than straight-off-the-runway ensembles. The styling is key when it comes to red carpet looks, and straight off the runway looks seem like the easy way out. Custom designs also have a unique flair with additional elements that not only accentuate the ensemble but also give a peek of the wearer’s personality. Archival pieces are also something we look forward to seeing. Red carpets are the perfect place to celebrate artistry and craftsmanship and to honour vintage fashion. And especially celebrities with the power to make a statement and bring light to hidden gems of the past, which were not appreciated enough. Fashion evolves and changes, but the respect and admiration for its evolution and where it started are just as important to preserving the beauty of the hard work that goes into bringing forth couture.
And that’s all we’re hoping to see on the carpet with luscious ensembles with beautiful styling and a whole lot of intriguing, fashionable, iconic moments.
